**Article Processing Charge (APC)**
Global Insights Law Journal (GILJ) operates an Article Processing Charge (APC) model to support the costs associated with manuscript processing, peer review coordination, professional editing, digital publication, long-term archiving, indexing support, and platform maintenance.
The APC becomes payable **only after a manuscript has successfully passed peer review and has been formally accepted for publication**. Submission of manuscripts is free, and payment of APC does **not** influence editorial decisions, which are based strictly on scholarly quality, originality, and relevance.
Authors will receive payment instructions upon acceptance of their manuscript.
Global Insights Law Journal (GILJ) is committed to promoting equitable access to scholarly publishing. Authors who are unable to meet the Article Processing Charge (APC) due to demonstrated financial hardship may apply for a partial or full waiver.
All waiver applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to the discretion and approval of the Journal. In assessing requests, the Journal may consider the author’s financial circumstances, institutional support, funding availability, and other relevant factors.
Requests for APC waivers must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission or prior to editorial processing. The consideration, approval, or denial of a waiver request shall have no bearing on the editorial assessment, peer review process, or final publication decision. All manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic merit, originality, and relevance to the Journal’s scope.
All payments made to Global Insights Law Journal (GILJ), including but not limited to Article Processing Charges (APC), publication fees, administrative fees, and any other applicable charges, are final and non-refundable once successfully processed, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
Refund requests may only be considered in limited exceptional circumstances, including duplicate payments, verified billing errors, or payment transactions incorrectly processed due to technical system failures. Any request for a refund must be submitted in writing to the Journal within **7 days** of the transaction date and must include sufficient supporting evidence for review.
For the avoidance of doubt, no refund shall be granted once a manuscript has entered any stage of editorial handling, including but not limited to preliminary screening, editorial assessment, peer review, copyediting, typesetting, production, publication, indexing, or digital archiving.
Initiation of a chargeback, payment dispute, or unauthorised reversal without first engaging the Journal’s formal dispute resolution process may constitute a breach of the Journal’s payment terms and may result in suspension of current or future publishing services, including withdrawal or withholding of manuscript processing where legally permissible.
Global Insights Law Journal reserves the sole and absolute right to review, approve, deny, or partially grant any refund request in accordance with this policy. All decisions made by the Journal regarding refund eligibility shall be final, subject only to applicable mandatory legal obligations.

By making any payment to Global Insights Law Journal (GILJ), the payer acknowledges and agrees to the Journal’s applicable fees, payment terms, refund policy, and related publishing policies.
All payments must be made through the Journal’s approved payment channels. The payer is solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of payment details, including payment amount, currency, and transaction information before completing any transaction.
Global Insights Law Journal shall not be liable for losses, delays, failed transactions, or additional charges arising from third-party payment processors, banks, card issuers, network failures, currency conversion, or other circumstances beyond the Journal’s reasonable control.
Completion of payment does not guarantee manuscript acceptance, publication, or any favourable editorial outcome. All editorial and publication decisions remain strictly independent and are based solely on the Journal’s academic and editorial standards.
